The Society for the Advancement of ICT & Comparative Knowledge (SOCTHADICK) is a non-ethnic, non-racial, non-sectional global intellectual forum for the literates and non-literates, towards liberating the mind from material and spiritual ignorance.
SOCTHADICK is a not-for-profit, non-governmental organization (NGO). As a society with free registration as an Associate Member, the society is patterned after the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) (which was established in 1848). However, unlike AAAS which focuses primarily on science in its broad sense, SOCTHADICK has two (2) basic thematic groups, namely:
(i) ICT– This covers disciplines in the mathematical sciences, information sciences, information technology and allied areas.
(ii) Comparative Knowledge – This involves the examination of the inter-relationship among all formal and informal knowledge areas as may be codified as natural philosophy.
Essentially therefore, the society is concerned, among others, in examining the inter-relationship among science, theology and philosophy. Thus, all knowledge areas in the sciences, technology, arts, humanities and related disciplines are relevant.
Membership of the society is open to all lovers of knowledge irrespective of age, sex, social status, ethnic origin, religious affiliation etc.
Although the Secretariat of the society is presently in Nigeria, membership is drawn from different countries of the world.
